  • Clock Tower

The clock tower was erected to commemorate the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Victoria's reign and stands prominently on the seafront. The clock was wound by hand by a Council employee but the mechanism was replaced and the original movement is now on display and working in the Museum.

  • Exmouth Docks

  • EXMOUTH'S V.C.s

Rex Warneford won the Victoria Cross for being the first pilot to shoot down a Zeppelin. Richard Sandford was a Submarine commander in the First World War and won a Victoria Cross for the daring raid on Zeebrugge in 1918. See their stories at the Museum.

  • Clapps Cafe

Situated on the corner of Rolle Street and the Strand Gardens this was a favourite meeting place for Exmothians. Alas, a Mobile Phone shop now occupies the corner premises. Visit the Museum to see more photographs of Exmouth Past and Present.

  • WWI Air Ace

Exmouth is well served by public transport & the Railway Station and Bus stops are nearby.

The Museum doesn't have a cafe but there is a range of cafes, restaurants and bars within a short walk (ask the Team for assistance as you leave the Museum)

Exmouth is a busy seaside town - for more information on the town and Event Listings visit www.exmouth-guide.co.uk

As well as other artefacts and documents the Museum has a large number of photographs and a small collection of oil paintings & watercolours.

Our 'visitor display', in 2024 was the RNLI celebrating their 200th Anniversary. We also had a D Day Display to mark the 80th anniversary and a display on Holy Trinity Church marking its 200th anniversary. In 2025 we will be celebrating the 140 Anniversay of The Salvation Army.
